The Trends We’re Actually Wearing (And the Ones We’re Skipping)

Every season we sit down together — sometimes in person, sometimes over a very long voice note chain — and do a brutal honest edit of what is actually worth paying attention to. Not what the algorithm is pushing, not what every brand suddenly decided to make at the same time, not what looked incredible on a runway and makes zero sense in real life. What we are actually buying, actually wearing, and actually recommending to each other. Here is where we landed this season.

The Trends We Are Wearing

Quiet luxury has been building for a couple of seasons now and we are still fully committed. There is something deeply satisfying about investing in a really beautiful cashmere sweater or a perfectly cut pair of trousers in a warm neutral and knowing that they will work in your wardrobe for years rather than months. Quiet luxury is not about being boring — it is about letting quality and cut do the work instead of logos and novelty. Between the five of us we have never felt more aligned on a trend.

The ballet aesthetic took us a little longer to come around to but we are here now. Not all of it — we are picking our pieces carefully rather than going all in on the full look — but the ballet flat with a pointed toe, the ribbon detail on a dress, the soft pink layered under a camel coat. Those pieces we are absolutely wearing. They bring a softness and femininity to an outfit that feels fresh without feeling costumey.

Linen is not a trend so much as a seasonal truth that we return to every year with genuine enthusiasm. Linen trousers, linen shirts, linen dresses, linen blazers. The fabric breathes, it drapes beautifully, it wrinkles in a way that looks intentional rather than sloppy, and it gets better with every wash. We are wearing linen everything and we have no intention of stopping.

The maxi skirt is having a moment and we are completely on board. Flowy and comfortable and endlessly elegant, a good maxi skirt worn with a simple fitted top and flat sandals is one of the easiest outfits we know. It requires almost no thought, works for almost any occasion, and photographs beautifully which is not nothing when you run a fashion blog.

The Trends We Are Skipping

Very low rise jeans are back and we are not going back with them. We did this in 2003. We remember exactly how it felt and not fondly. There are women who look incredible in a very low rise and we celebrate them. We are simply not among them and we have made peace with that. Some things are better left in the past.

Logo overload is something we have never really been able to get behind and this season feels like a particularly aggressive version of it. When every piece is shouting a brand name the clothes stop being about style and start being about status signaling. We prefer our clothes to do the talking through cut and fabric and color rather than through someone else’s name printed repeatedly across the chest. There are ways to incorporate a subtle logo piece beautifully but the maximalist version is not for us.

The micro bag is gorgeous. We all agree on this. It photographs beautifully, it looks amazing on a runway, and it is completely and utterly impractical for our actual lives. We are five women who carry our lives in our bags — wallets, phones, keys, lip balm, the emergency snack, the backup earring, the thing we meant to give back to someone three weeks ago. A bag the size of a playing card is not going to cut it. We will admire them from a distance.

Our Honest Advice

Trends are a suggestion, not a directive. The best thing about paying attention to what is happening in fashion is that it gives you new ideas and new energy — not a new set of rules to follow. Take what works for your life, your body, your style, and leave the rest without guilt. The women who look most stylish are rarely the ones wearing every trend. They are the ones who know exactly what works for them and wear it with complete conviction.
